I love tea – love it love it love it.  I drink it mostly iced, even in the dead of winter.  Several years ago, one of the blogs I followed talked about doing mason jar sun tea.  I loved the idea and have been making it ever since, especially on the weekends. 

I am very simple with it – put loose tea in a disposable filter (I don’t like cleaning the strainers) and staple it shut.  Put it in a mason jar or clean spaghetti sauce jar, partially fill with water and put outside in the hot sun.  On the hot deck or deck rail is perfect.  Leave out until you are ready to drink it, anywhere from 2 to 6 hours.  Note for the winter:  the center back of the stove works really good especially if you’re making a pot of soup. 

I make my tea triple strength.  That way when I pour it over ice and the ice melts, it’s usually just about right.  I add lemon, no sweetner, put on the lid to my glass, and enjoy.  This one is a chamomile – mint tea (no caffeine) that I made last weekend.

    I drink green tea, hot, every morning. It’s great for the metabolism. I drink a couple of more cups of it during the day, decaf though because I’d have trouble sleeping otherwise.

    I’ll definitely have to get this recipe for my files. Do you think you could email it to me? Hugs if you can, but no worries if you can’t. :)

      The tea in that picture was called Tummy Tonic and I got it from Carytown Tea. For herbal teas, I also use Celestial Seasonings in various flavors. Sometimes I throw in some fresh mint from my herb garden.
