Rival for Sunlight

May 24, 2011

Nature, ZArchive (Old Blog)

This oak willow tree is just starting to fill in, one of the last of our trees to fully leaf out.  When it does, it will pretty much hide the neighbor behind us.

Unfortunately, it’s very close to the tall pine trees to the right, which is a rival for sunlight.  You cannot see it here, but the very top of the oak willow tree is nearly 90 degrees away from the pine trees.  As it’s getting taller, it’s working harder to get away from its rival in the backyard.

Word for tomorrow – IGNORING.  If you prefer to work ahead, see the list for the week under “A Word A Day”.

To see how others might interpret today’s randomly selected word, check out other challenge participants in the box at the right.  For more information on participating in the challenge, click the tab above.
