One funny thing about our yard is that we have two beagle trails through it. The other two dogs run wherever, but the beagle generally always follows the same path back and forth to the back door.
I’ve shown one of them here, with a black line to show the trail. I’ve tried to photograph it several ways, but you really have to be standing in the grass looking down at just the right angle to see this hint of a trail through our yard. It’s definitely there, but it’s not too terribly obvious.

Jaimie would understand that. We have a circle path way from our living room through our dining room and kitchen then back to the living room. We can go either direction but Jaimie will only go in one direction. It would take 2 strong adults to drag her directly to the kitchen from the dining room, so strong is her resistance to braking her pattern of travel. :)

That would have never occurred to me, but it makes sense. Jaimie is very much into her routines and patterns. I could see where a deviation just wouldn’t happen. Thanks so much for visiting each day – it really makes me happy.
