I’m at my daughter’s house to spend some time with her before work gets even crazier than it is. After this, I won’t see her again until Thanksgiving. It gives my favorite boy toy a break – he has the house to himself and other than the dogs, can keep whatever schedule he wants to this week.
Today was a slow day for us – farmer’s market in the morning, then playing with her slow cooker, a nap, and now some television. Her dogs love having me here. I’m being followed all over, poked for attention, and have them laying all over me, touching me. The 100+ pound blue male is laying his head in my lap as he wags his tail; the black brindle female (same size) is doing full body contact, leaning up against me from head to toe. And the shar pei laid across my lap to take her nap.
They’re good dogs, good companions and good guard dogs. Here’s how they look and here’s a picture of the brindled female with her Momma playing rubber band with those floppy jowls.
Word for tomorrow – CAMERA. If you prefer to work ahead, see the list for the week under “A Word A Day”.

I am enjoying it. I haven’t spent a whole week with her for a while and even though we’ll both be working for part of the week, it’s worth it. Thanks! I got your other note and will respond shortly.

I read recently that some dogs are leaners and some are non-leaners. I guess we know where her dogs lie.

My dogs are leaners too, only much smaller :)

Has your daughter lived in Atlanta long? I lived there with my daughter while she trained with Atlanta Ballet. That was probably 6 or 7 years ago.
It’s nice to spend time with daughters, isn’t it? Mine is definitely my bff. I miss her when she leaves us after spending time here at home. But I’m always glad to know that she has her own life and is making her own decisions. That’s why we expend so much energy in parenting after all, don’t you think?
cherish your time…and your daughter… :)
